The new Ocea Plugger Flex Drive is part of Shimano's famous JDM Ocea Big Game rods, the Ocea Plugger Flex Drive has been designed for fishing surface-feeding pelagic species such as tuna, GT and tarpon. The progressive action maximizes fighting performance, while the power reserve in the butt ensures total control when maximum strength is required. If lure fishing for large pelagic species is your passion, using plugs, stick baits or even poppers, the Ocea Plugger Flex Drive is a rod to try. With a more progressive action than most Ocea models, this stunning range is truly perfect when tackling hard-fighting fish, as the blank reacts instantly to increased force with a reassuring combination of flex and power. In extreme situations, the power hidden in the handle section allows you to maintain total control and inspires confidence when it is needed most. Long distance casting performance is maintained throughout the range and the advanced blank progression maximizes the action of the lure, especially when working with strength and speed. The Ocea Plugger Flex Drive's progressive action blank is constructed from two of Shimano's most advanced materials, Spiral X-Core and Hi-Power X, and also benefits from Nanopitch technology. These carbons work together to reduce the twisting of the blank when subjected to pressure, resulting in significantly longer and more precise casting performance, whilst improving fish fighting power. Fitted with a Fuji Titanium SiC K-Type starter guide and Fuji Stainless Steel SiC intermediate guides, optimized for maximum casting performance, the addition of an exclusive Shimano CI4+ non-slip reel seat allows you to generate maximum casting speed to reach the fish that feed at a distance.
