The Honoria VIP range was born for the needs of those who love to fight the mighty marine predators of the sea, in particular the Bluefin Tuna. A quick search on the web is enough to understand what is thought about the Honoria VIP as it is popular amongst some of the world’s greatest big game fisherman. One thing is clear, these rods are not for everyone. They are very technical, accurate and efficient, we’re talking about real handcrafted gems that are made in Italy. These are “pure” stand up rods that have been developed to absorb the mighty escapes of the most powerful marine predators. With actions ranging from 20/30 lb to 50/80 lb they are able to cover the needs of any angler. They are also fully customisable and anglers will have the possibility to choose the components that they prefer, for example the ALPS rollers or WT rollers.

These rods are built to meet the needs of everyone and Artico offers the Honoria VIP in two different lengths, from the 165 cm Classic stand up to the 185 cm Hybrid which is particularly useful for those fishing from boats equipped with outboard motors.
The carbon used to produce the Honoria VIP is Ferrari High Modulus T1700 PrePreg carbon which has been kindly granted from Maranello’s House exclusively for the production of Gamma’s Top rods. The Ferrari High Modulus carbon is the same used in Formula 1 racing and is the highest modulus pure carbon on the market. This means it is the lightest and most resistant and rods produced in China usually use the high modulus M40 carbon, while the Ferrari carbon granted to Artico is a M80. Artico can use Ferrari high modulus because Artico and Ferrari are both companies Made in Italy and both represent the excellence in their industry. The carbon fibre contained in the cloth are all unidirectional and if we made a rod with only these fibres it would be very rigid and light and wouldn’t have the resistance to match. That is why the Ferrari Carbon is transversely and longitudinally matched with others types of carbon. By doing this we can obtain the specific mechanical characteristic that each model of rod must have for different fishing situations. The Honoria VIP contains 9 different types of carbon that are matched within the same blank. This insight is part of the artisan work that separates companies like Artico from the rest.
