Daiwa's Certate SW shares its monocoque body (MQ) with the famous 20 Saltiga. The one-piece body eliminates the requirement of a traditional side plate and screw system, replacing that with a motor plate housing the incredibly large G1 Duralumin drive gear, also shared with the 20 Saltiga. This combination of body and gear was what put 20 Saltiga on the market and is sure to set the Certate SW right at the top of the category when it comes to strength and power. Featuring Daiwa's Zaion rotor design, Certate SW is lightweight and durable. Zaion's lightweight construction makes the Certate SW spin incredibly light and responsive and also offers an end result of up to 40 grams of weight savings compared to 20 SALTIGA. Certate SW features a Magseal roll and Magseal body, which combined with the MQ construction means the Certate SW is extremely well sealed to the elements, giving anglers the confidence that Certate SW won't let them down. Sharing the same redesigned drag as 20 Saltiga, Certate SW's multi-layer carbon drag offers ten times more drag resistance than 16 Catalina. The new washer design combined with the aluminum radiation resistance knob increases heat dissipation while improving resistance performance under heavy load. The high-speed models feature a soft-touch hi-grip egg-shaped knob that provides grip and comfort for sweeping movements to work a surface lure. The low speed models have an EVA Power Round knob suitable for up and down work of vertical lures. Introducing the brand new Daiwa 20 Saltiga Lever Drag (LD), crafted from the ground up to meet the demands of hardcore saltwater anglers around the world. Over half a decade in the making, Saltiga LD combines everything learnt from across the globe. From the USA, South Africa, New Zealand & Australia, every bit of feedback and learning has been absorbed and rolled into what can only be described as Daiwa’s best lever drag reel ever made. It all starts with the precisely machined one-piece aluminium body and side plates. This rigid housing holds what sets Saltiga LD apart from the competition – a meticulously crafted drive gear & pinion gear made from insanely durable Stainless Steel. Stainless Steel gears are harder than brass and much more resistant to the harsh saltwater fields in which this reel will be used. Stainless Steel gearing is often criticised for lacking smoothness, but Daiwa engineers have overcome this, producing a gear set that is refined and smooth, yet more powerful & durable than anything else on the market. The 20 Saltiga LD has had improvements in all areas of the reel, addressing areas of concern that top anglers identified with lever drag reels of the past. A drag cam design that is smooth and capable of handling both braid and monofilament lines is one of the obvious improvements. The lever itself has been totally redesigned to allow finite and precise drag control even at very low settings. 20 Saltiga LD was designed to be beautifully simple, and incredibly strong.
