The new Daiwa 23 Emblem Surf 45 Type R surf casting reel takes the already excellent distance casting performance of the standard version to the extreme: it is in fact equipped with a TYPE R spool with SUPER SHALLOW profile (0.18-300 m) perfect for use very thin or braided nylon. Like the Emblem Surf 45, it is also equipped with a ZAION V body and rotor and a new generation Quick Drag M drag. The new Daiwa 23 Emblem Surf 45 SCW QD confirms the winning formula of the previous model, further improving it both in terms of build quality and look. Both body and rotor were built in the innovative ZAION V material: a carbon-based composite material, lighter and more resistant than traditional materials and totally free from corrosion. The weight of the new Emblem is in fact reduced by 25 grams compared to the previous generation. The new 45 spool is Ultra Longa Cast with a Shallow profile (0.30-300m) facilitating the use of thin wires to maximize casting distance. A second Long Cast spool with higher capacity (0.35-300m) is supplied. The spooling system can count on the tested Slow Cross Wrap technology, the slow spooling with crossed coils which guarantees optimal line pick-up. The new Emblem is also equipped with an Air Bail type hollow bail arm, while the clutch is the new QDM, more modulable and precise than the previous standard QD. Magsealed technology, the special magnetized oil membrane patented by Daiwa, protects the internal mechanics from the corrosive action of salt air, an important feature for prolonged use in a marine environment.
