Shimano 25 Grappler Type C – Offshore spinning excellence with power, precision, and control. The Shimano 25 Grappler Type C is a purpose-built offshore spinning rod designed for long-distance casting of artificial lures, particularly stickbaits and topwater plugs. Built with Shimano’s advanced Spiral X and Hi-Power X technologies, it delivers exceptional torsional stiffness and instantaneous power transfer while maintaining a lightweight structure. This results in rapid lure response and reliable performance when fighting hard-hitting pelagic species like tuna, frigate tuna, and mahi-mahi. Featuring a moderate to moderately fast action, the rod combines a sensitive tip with a strong backbone, offering a smooth load curve and high lifting power. The custom guide layout with Fuji K-Type Alconite guides and a Fuji SiC tip ensures optimal line management and minimizes tangles, especially with reduced guide spacing at the tip section. A robust Fuji DPS reel seat (except on ML models, which use lightweight CI4+ seats) provides a secure fit for a wide range of reel sizes. The ergonomic EVA grip delivers comfort and superior control, even in wet or rough conditions. Designed for technical offshore spinning, the Grappler Type C combines casting distance, lure control, and battle-ready strength—an elite tool for serious saltwater anglers seeking peak performance on every trip.
Shimano 25 Grappler Type Slow J: Maximum Efficiency for Modern Slow Jigging
The new Shimano Grappler Type Slow J sets a technical benchmark for anglers specializing in slow jigging, thanks to its optimized design that delivers precision, sensitivity, and power throughout every phase of the fishing action. Built with Shimano's patented Spiral X and Hi-Power X technologies, this series stands out for its high torsional rigidity and lightweight construction, ensuring total jig control even at greater depths.
High-Performance Blank for Control and Sensitivity
This rod features a slim, moderate-action blank with a slightly stiff tip, perfect for imparting a natural and controlled movement to the jig while maintaining the sensitivity needed to detect even the slightest bites. With an operating range between 200 and 330 grams, it offers versatility across various deep-water fishing conditions, ensuring a quick and responsive action to each jerk.
Balanced Design for Extended Sessions
The optimized 6'6" (198 cm) length strikes the ideal balance between leverage and handling, reducing muscle fatigue during long vertical jigging sessions. The high-density EVA grip is ergonomic and detachable, making transportation easier without compromising combat stability.
Engineered for Slow-Pitch Jigs
The moderate parabolic action enhances slow-pitch jig performance, accentuating the jig’s descent with a natural flutter that keeps it longer in the strike zone. A strong backbone provides the power and responsiveness required to control and lift hard-fighting bottom dwellers like groupers, amberjacks, and snappers—even in strong current conditions.
Fuji Components for Durability and Reliability
Equipped with Fuji K-Type guides featuring Alconite inserts and a Fuji SiC tip-top, the rod ensures smooth line flow and high wear resistance. The Fuji reel seat offers secure mounting, even with larger reels, ensuring reliability under extreme conditions.
Top-Tier Performance in Every Scenario
The Grappler Type Slow J is a professional-grade tool designed for high performance, offering both technical precision and lifting power in the most demanding environments. A strategic choice for advanced slow jigging practitioners who need equipment capable of handling both depth and the raw power of bottom-dwelling predators.
Shimano Grappler Type J 25: a high-performance jigging rod for extreme pelagic applications. The new Shimano Grappler Type J 25 represents the state of the art in medium-heavy vertical jigging, offering a technically optimized platform in both spinning and baitcasting configurations. Designed to handle jigs ranging from 180 to 250 grams, this rod features a slim, highly responsive blank with a moderate-fast action that ensures excellent motion transmission and significantly reduces angler fatigue during extended fishing sessions. Built with Shimano’s exclusive Spiral-X and Hi-Power X technologies, the Grappler Type J offers a low-torsion structure that drastically enhances both torsional stiffness and longitudinal strength, without adding excess weight. The result is improved hook-setting efficiency, precise jig control, and superior performance when battling large predators such as amberjack, grouper, and snapper. Its technical components include Fuji K-Type guides with Alconite inserts for superior heat dissipation and tangle-free casting, along with a Fuji SiC tip guide that ensures smooth line flow under high load. The spinning models are equipped with an ultra-light custom Shimano CI4+ reel seat, while the baitcasting versions feature a robust Fuji trigger seat for maximum reliability under heavy pressure. The rod is fitted with a high-density EVA handle, ergonomically shaped and removable for easy transport, while maintaining secure control during active jigging phases. The Grappler Type J 25 is a strategic choice for the technical angler seeking a combination of structural power, dynamic response, and maneuverability, all in a finely balanced tool tailored for deep-water jigging.
Shimano Grappler Type J: engineered precision meets brute strength.
The Shimano 19 Grappler offshore rod range offers jigging and spinning specific models. Blanks are enhanced with Shimano Spiral X and Hi-Power X technologies that guarantee incredible strength and performance eliminating the blank torsion when casting, jigging or fighting a fish. Eight different SKUs are dedicated to jigging: Jigging, Slow Jigging and Light Jigging specialist models to cover all the modern angler’s needs. Fuji DPS and T-DPS reel seat on Jigging and Slow Jigging models, Shimano CI4+ Perfection Seat and Multi Palming Touch for the maximum sensitivity on Light Jig models. Four SKUs are specific for spinning and popping: from the shortest 7’3” perfect to cast pencil lures up to 80 grams to the longest 8’2” capable of casting up to 150 grams. All rods are mounted with Fuji Alconite + SiC tip guide, stainless steel frame.
Grappler type SJ is specialized for Slow Jigging with the same length of 6'8" across all 5 models, the power ratings range from 1 through 5. This rod is great for slow jigging in waters of 60m and depper. Similar to the other blanks in the Grappler series, Type SJ is equipped with Spiral X and Hi Power X as well. Fuji's T-DPS20 is used for the reel seat which provides a wide surface area for rod to lay flat in the hands of anglers. Even with heavy jigs, jerking has been made possible with the use of this rod.
