The new Shimano Beastmaster XC 14000 is the entry level BigPit reel aimed at novice anglers who want to take their carp or surf fishing to the next level, or those on a more limited budget. With features derived directly from more expensive Shimano models, such as Super Slow 5 oscillation and Parallel Body, the Beastmaster XC is an excellent medium to long distance casting reel. With a name like Beastmaster you can be sure that this large, durable reel will meet your expectations. Offering excellent value for money, if you're new to long distance fishing, or want a second reel for carp or surf fishing, the Beastmaster XC is the right choice. While not high-end, the Beastmaster certainly has eye-catching cosmetics, with the same G Free Body silhouette as Shimano's flagship reels. The Super Slow 5 swing and Parallel Body help maximize casting distance, regardless of your experience or ability. Even though the Beastmaster is Shimano's cheapest reel, it still packs a good amount of advanced technology. The Super Slow 5 oscillation line-lay is still the default line-lay by which other reels are judged, and the AR-C spool design is exactly the same profile found on the best long-range Shimano reels. Both of these features help increase casting distance. During use you will appreciate the fluidity and power of the HAGANE gear, while the 4.3:1 gear ratio, with 103cm of line per turn of the handle, ensures that the Beastmaster XC is equally good at retrieving quickly as for throwing. For better fishing action, thanks to the Instant Drag it is possible to quickly adjust the maximum drag of 20 kg with a single turn of the clutch wing nut, to always have direct control.
You cannot fail to be impressed by the extraordinary action of the new Shimano Beastmaster Surf J surf casting rod. Available with tubular or solid tips, you can harness the power of the tubular version when you need more casting distance. However, if you prefer maximum sensitivity, you can choose the Hybrid version, which perfectly integrates a solid tip in the upper section to maximize the detection of the shyest touches. Both versions also feature two ringing options. The Seaguide BG guides offer great all round performance, or the Fuji LCOG Low-rider for lighter lines and braid. The casting power of the Shimano Beastmaster Suf J comes from the fast action Full Carbon blank design which transfers power through the rod to generate maximum casting speed with fast tip recovery. The tubular tip versions are more suitable for the demanding conditions, wind and waves typical of the Atlantic Ocean and have a length of 4.25 m and a casting weight of 225 g (8 oz). The solid tips of the Hybrid models are a big plus in the lighter Mediterranean conditions and are also 4.25m long, but with a casting weight of 200g (7oz). All models feature Shimano DPS reel seat and butt grip which guarantees maximum grip pressure even in wet conditions. All models are 3-piece for convenient carrying.
